Self Reflection

I feel that my studies are progressing well, at the beginning of unit one I was very eager to get started making music but had no idea how to use the software. Now not only am I excited to get to create but I have some more tools to do it.

On the self paced learning, sometimes it can be frustrating when I am lost or feel like I've been doing the same things for a long time but in those moments I like to listen to my first song to see how much more I know or start googling solutions to my problems on logic.

The last few classes I have experienced a very intense desire to create newer, better music. Although this is exciting, it's also frustrating because I feel like I am not at the point where I am equipped to create really solid beats / tunes. Last class I found a list of popular songs a capella style. I tried to take the vocals from "When You were Young" by the Killers and write a cool backing track using a midi beat but it just didn't work and was overall disappointing. This is not all bad, though, because now I have a goal to strive for. I think in a few units I will be able to create cool tracks using already written songs so that is something to look forward to.
